Personal Update
As you know, I like to stay away from talking about myself too much (maybe that should change – after all, it is STEVEHATMAKER.com, right?) but I would just like to let everyone in on why I have been slackin’ on the updates lately (as if you cared). I have been busy getting some new stuff in the works for the website and some of the other sites that I own – it is going to be great! Also, I have been working on getting all the leg work done that goes with getting a CD mass produced and setting up a publishing company – much less trying to find a way to pay for it all. Luckily, I will have lots and lots of blog post in the near future with ways to get through all of the music related things I have been going through – easily and more effectively then I have been going about it… because I didn’t know and wish I had some of the info before hand. I have a couple of other song-writing and recording projects that I have been fitting in between everything else.
Anyway, I will be enjoying Memphis in May as well as playing a few shows with the good old cover band this weekend. I will be sure to keep everyone updated on Memphis in May as well as have some great articles and useful information start flowing into the website. I also plan on doing a reviews section on this website, which if you are interested in guitar effects and guitar reviews be sure to check out my other site – thegitfiddle.com, and on the reviews section I will post reviews about music gear and books as well as just plain old music – when I have time. I just thought it would give everyone a little more insight on how my beautiful, yet complex, brain works.. or something like that.
So, keep checking back and looking for some great, new music information as well as the entertaining nonsense that I post on otherwise horribly boring subjects such as American Idol. Be sure to jump over to twitter and follow me (@stevehatmaker) as I will be talking about how great, or not great, music fest is going. Unless, of course, it is horribly rainy as I don’t won’t to ruin my already crappy Blackberry.
I take that back, I will do it anyway.
And if you have anything that you want to know about that pertains to the music industry, be sure to just ask and I will probably have to let you know that I am unaware of the answer. But, it never hurts to ask.
Thanks!

Super Bowl Commercials Part 2
Right after the Super Bowl this year I put up a post with a bunch of different ads from the game. Youtube did a contest called Ad Blitz to see what was the popular videos. Well, they selected the top 5 and they aren’t really to terribly surprising. Three of the top 5 were commercials for Doritos (who had some good ones this year) while the other two belonged too e*trade baby (naturally) and a Snickers commercial. I personally thought the commercial this year weren’t nearly as good as some in the recent years, but I do agree with pretty much all of these picks – although, I probably would have put them in a different order.
This has nothing to do with music, but I just thought they were neat, so I would post them. I will just post the top three and you can go on over to youtube to look up the rest if you are interested. What do you think about the winners?

Top Super Bowl 44 Commercials
So, this post really doesn’t have much to do with music. Well, unless you count the “No Pants” commercial. Anyway, here are some of the commercial from the Super Bowl and as much as many people look forward to them, I think they did a relatively poor job this year. I didn’t really find any that just stood out or any that were just simply “hilarious,” but here are some of the “highlights.”
What did you think of the commercials this year? Did you have any that you really liked that I just missed?

First Post, Happy New Year

Happy New Year! It is 2010 and as usual, I am a little late to the game, but here is my official blog. If you have read my about me page, or if you know me, then you kind of get an idea of what this is all about. Nothing special – at least I don’t think so. This is just a story of events that happen through out my life. Bits of information, and my oh so wonderful opinion, on things that happen in the music world. A view through the eyes of a struggling music enthusiast who wants nothing more than to be heard. Stick with me – I might have something to say.
I wish you the best of luck in the new year! May all your dreams come a reality!
