The Pretty Reckless

Taylor Momsen, “Gossip Girl” star, has a band called the Pretty Reckless. On June 22, they are releasing a brand new EP titled “The Pretty Reckless.” The four song EP is a great. Their single, “Make Me Wanna Die,” is already available on iTunes. “Make Me Wanna Die” is a great rock song mixed with haunting violins and pounding guitar and bass riffs. Taylor’s voice is the perfect fit for the song.

The second song on the album, “My Medicine,” is a pop/rock tune. It is very simple, but catchy. It has a White Stripe’s feel. The third song is called “Goin’ Down.” This one has more of a punk rock feel and is very up beat. The final song on the EP is titled “Zombie.” It is much like the other songs on the EP. “Zombie” has a very strong and powerful chorus and could be quite catchy if you listen to it too much.

Taylor Momsen’s voice and the strong rock band behind give The Pretty Reckless a great chance to make a name for themselves in the future. They will be playing the Van’s Warped Tour starting June 25th, so if you are going to be at the Warped Tour, be sure to check out the Pretty Reckless. Also, be sure to pick up the EP on June 22 on iTunes.

There is some, uhm, interesting stuff that came out today. I think there may be a little bit of something for everyone. New Releases – June 1st

Not an exciting week in new releases for me. Maybe you can point out something in this list of music that will be great. I am, however, excited that my band’s, Crushing Juliet, album will be released this coming Saturday. And don’t forget that for today only you can preview the entire album! Also, don’t forget that if you are going to be in Memphis on June 5th to come on down to Minglewood Hall to check out the CD release show with Crushing Juliet. Also releasing an album at the very same show will be the Memphis band Chosen View. Two great bands and two great CD’s for $10!

Preview Crushing Juliet Album – June 1

Along with the normal, huge releases that we are so blessed with every week in music, everyone will also get a chance to hear my bands, Crushing Juliet’s new album “Broken Cadillac.” The album will be put up for preview on Crushing Juliet’s Myspace as well as up on this site.

The album will be released on June 5th and there will be a show in Memphis, TN at Minglewood Hall. Tickets to the show are $10 and the album will be $10. Along with my bands release, you can also pick up Chosen View’s new album “The Common Thread” which also releases the same day. That’s right, a dual CD release show featuring Crushing Juliet and Chosen View as well as two other great bands.
